Anthony Newley was an English actor, singer, and songwriter.

He was the son of Frances Grace Newley and George Kirby.

Anthony had a son with his former wife, actress Ann Lynn; two children with his former wife, actress and author Joan Collins; and two children with his former wife, air hostess Dareth Rich.

Anthony had said that he had Jewish heritage, sometimes stated to be his maternal grandmother. It is not clear if this is accurate.

Anthony’s maternal grandfather was Arthur Newley (the son of George Newley and Rebecca Short). Arthur was born in Bethnal Green, Middlesex. George was the son of Benjamin Newley and Sarah Berry.

Anthony’s maternal grandmother was named Frances/Francis Rosetta Morris (the daughter of George Henry Morris and Sarah).
