Why didnt Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie attend George Clooneys wedding?
I don’t really understand why everyone thought Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie would fly to Venice for George Clooney’s wedding. I mean, the tabloids widely reported that Angelina and Brad would put in an appearance, but that always sounded like a guest-wish-list type of thing. I’ve always thought that people put too much stock into George and Brad’s friendship. They’re friends and colleagues, of course, but rarely do you ever hear of Brad and George bro-ing out like George does with most of his close dude friends. They’re basically just work friends, you know? But everyone is like “OMG Brangelina wasn’t at the wedding, what happened?!”
It was the most important day of George Clooney’s life as he wed Amul Alamuddin, surrounded by his nearest and dearest in Venice. But where was one of his closest friends, Brad Pitt?
The 50-year-old actor and his leading lady wife Angelina Jolie, 39, appeared to be conspicuously absent among the A-List guests at the celebrity nuptials.
While images of everyone from Matt Damon, Bono, Anna Wintour, Cindy Crawford, Emily Blunt and husband John Krasinski celebrating the lavish event in the Italian city have appeared, Brangelina haven’t been seen once. As one of the most photographed couple’s in the world, their absence was particularly noticeable as the guests and wedding party traveled to the Aman hotel in a flotilla of vintage water taxis on Saturday.
And with their six strong brood usually in tow where ever they go, it would seem highly unlikely the huge contingent of photographers watching proceedings could have missed the family making an entrance under the radar. With Brad and Angelina currently filming their first movie together since Mr And Mrs Smith on the island of Malta, it’s said the couple may have been stuck during the middle of production. The drama set in the Seventies is written, directed and starring Angelina, with the pair relocating their six children to shoot at the exotic location for an intensive period. With the budget and tight shooting schedule, they may have been unable to leave for George’s four-day wedding celebrations.
Yep, pretty much. They were working in Malta. And even if they weren’t working, I’m still not sure that Brad and Angelina would have come out for George’s wedding. Also: no Sandra Bullock, George’s long-time friend. No Hugh Bonneville, I think. And no Cate Blanchett, who is also one of George’s closest work friends. But sure, focus on the Brangelina absence. Obviously, The Leg of Doom ordered innocent Brad to stay away. The Leg of Doom is very concerned about Amal Alamuddin-Clooney and her thunder-stealing potential.
